Working for you in Kelowna West
Shelley Cook’s family has lived in the Central Okanagan for three generations, and Shelley has worked hard to make life better for people here. She’s determined to make our community better. Because it’s home.
Shelley has stood up for West Kelowna on issues that matter - like housing and affordability. She has worked with community groups and local government to improve housing, affordability and tackle the overdose crisis. She chaired the City of Kelowna’s Housing Committee and the Treatment Pillar for the Central Okanagan Four Pillars Coalition. As the Executive Director of the John Howard Society, Shelley was responsible for developing close to 100 units of housing.
For sixteen years, the BC Liberal government made life harder for people — especially here in West Kelowna. They ignored the housing crisis, neglected care for seniors and shortchanged our schools. They looked after themselves and their rich friends while hiking fees and making life more expensive. They took West Kelowna for granted.
That’s why Shelley is standing with Premier John Horgan and the BC NDP. His new government is focused on putting people back at the centre of politics and works hard every day to make life more affordable, protect services we all count on, and build an economy that works for everyone.
You can count on Shelley and Premier John Horgan. They’re building a better BC for you.
